Fall is the Best Time to Join a Run Club

Fall is the best running season in my opinion. There is nothing like a cool, crisp morning where you can wear longsleeves and shorts. Plus that post-run coffee just hits differently when it is a little bit cooler. This time of year is the perfect season to join a run club (ours or any others because there are so many options when it comes to run clubs). If you need a little convincing when it comes to joining a crew, here are 5 reasons why you can consider it.

1. Motivation and Accountability
Training for a fall race requires consistency and dedication. A run club provides a built-in support system where we can encourage and hold each other accountable. And running with friends is just so much better than running alone. Whether you're training for a 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon or more, having a group of like-minded runners keeps you motivated to s how up, even on those chilly autumn mornings.

2. Expert Guidance and Support
Most run clubs offer access to experienced coaches and seasoned runners who can provide valuable advice on training plans, pacing, nutrition and injury prevention.
Strides for Strengths is currently training several members of our crew and the coaches often are logging miles with us on Sundays in Denver. This expertise can be a game-changer for reaching goals and ensuring you're on the right track.

3. Varied Workouts and Improved Performance
Lacing up with a run club means you'll never get bored with your training because there are a mix of run opportunities. Different crews, offer different things. Like Brunch Running is the perfect crew for your recovery and easy run days. Other clubs are perfect for your long run days, speed and track days.

4. Sense of Community and Belonging
Running solo can sometimes feel isolating, but being a part of a run club connects you with a community of people who share your passion for running. You'll also meet new friends, share experiences and build camaraderie that extends beyond the pavement. So much of this is why we have a crew heading to Savannah in November for the Every Woman's Marathon. The community we create at our run clubs is so much more than just running.

5. Fun, Social Events and Celebrations
Run clubs are the new places to socialize. Whether you are looking to make new friends or people to celebrate your run wins with, you will find you people here. The social side of run clubs provide you the opportunity to make running fun and celebrate. Plus if you are reading this, we know that you love that post-run brunch and the opportunity to socialize with others. The blend of sweating and socializing adds a layer of fun and makes the entire journey more enjoyable. It's like French Toast is great solo but when you add berries and syrup, it becomes spectacular!
